Car hire in Navarre

3 offices in Navarre · Spain

Navarre changes landscape every half hour: from the Atlantic green of the Pyrenees and the Irati Forest to the Bardenas Reales, a film-set semi-desert in the south. In between lie Pamplona with its old town and Citadel, the central belt of castles such as Olite, and a food scene to rival any in Spain.

That diversity is precisely the problem with public transport: without a car, Irati, Roncesvalles and the Bardenas are all but inaccessible. You can collect your vehicle in Pamplona — city or railway station — or at Tudela station if you are tackling the south first, and build a circular route around the whole region in three or four days.

Frequently asked questions

Can I drive a hire car into the Bardenas Reales?

Yes: the natural park has a main compacted-earth track open to ordinary cars during daylight hours. Respect the closed sections and the speed limit; after heavy rain, check whether access is open.

Is it better to pick up in Pamplona or Tudela?

It depends on your itinerary: Pamplona is the natural base for the Pyrenees, Irati and Baztan; Tudela, with an office at the railway station, puts you on the doorstep of the Bardenas and the Ribera. Either works for a circular route.
