Car hire in Albacete
3 offices in Albacete · Spain
Albacete is the great transport hub of Spain's south-east: the Alicante and Murcia motorways converge here along with the Madrid–Levante high-speed AVE line. The flat, orderly city makes a perfect base for exploring a surprising province, from the gorges of the Júcar to the cutlery workshops that made the Albacete name famous.
The province is vast and its jewels are scattered: Alcalá del Júcar, the Lagunas de Ruidera and the Sierra de Alcaraz have no rail links, and rural buses are scarce. With offices in the city, at the AVE station and at the bus station, stepping off the train from Madrid and driving out towards the Júcar takes only minutes.

- The clifftop villages of the Júcar, Ruidera and the Sierra del Segura have no trains and few buses: without a car, you simply cannot get there.
- Albacete is a motorway crossroads (A-31, A-30, A-32): an ideal base for a circular itinerary through La Mancha, the Levante coast and eastern Andalusia.

Frequently asked questions
Can I collect a car when I step off the AVE in Albacete?
Yes. There is a rental point at Albacete-Los Llanos station itself, where the AVE stops, as well as at the bus station and in the city. It is the quickest way to combine train and car.
When is the best time to tour the province by car?
Spring and autumn bring mild temperatures for the Júcar and the Sierra de Alcaraz. In summer, the Lagunas de Ruidera are the star destination, though it pays to set off early as the Manchegan heat bites at midday.
