Is it easy to drive around Asturias?
The A-8 and A-66 motorways form a solid backbone for the region. Mountain roads, such as the climb to the Lakes of Covadonga, are narrow with occasional fog; in summer access to the Lakes is regulated and it pays to head up first thing.
Where do I collect my car when I land at Asturias Airport?
There are rental offices at Ranón Airport itself. It's the most sensible option: the airport is around 40 minutes from Oviedo and Gijón, and a taxi or bus transfer only makes your arrival pricier and more complicated.
