Car hire in Canary Islands
22 offices in Canary Islands · airport pick-up · Spain
The Canaries are eight islands and eight landscapes: the volcanoes of Lanzarote, the dunes of Fuerteventura, Mount Teide on Tenerife, the ravines of Gran Canaria and the laurel forests of La Gomera and La Palma. Blessed with fine weather all year round, they're the perfect destination to explore by car: in a single day you can go from a southern beach to a mist-wrapped forest in the heights.
We have 22 pick-up points across the archipelago, from the major airports to the little airfield on El Hierro, taking in Fuerteventura's resort areas such as Corralejo, Caleta de Fuste, Costa Calma and Morro Jable. So you can collect your car exactly where your trip begins, with no transfers.

- Pick-up at the airports of all the main islands, including El Hierro, the least connected in the archipelago.
- The Canaries' star attractions (Teide, Timanfaya, the Corralejo dunes, Roque Nublo) lie inland or in natural parks with barely any public transport.
- On Fuerteventura the distances are deceptive: Corralejo to Morro Jable is over an hour by road — unworkable by bus on tourist timetables.

Frequently asked questions
Can I take the hire car between Canary Islands by ferry?
It's not normally permitted: the contract restricts the vehicle to its island. If you're island-hopping, the usual approach is to return the car before boarding and collect another on arrival, with offices on every island.
Do I need a 4x4 to get around the Canaries?
For most routes, no: the main roads are paved and in good condition. Only a handful of specific tracks, such as the access to Cofete on Fuerteventura, are more comfortable in a high-clearance vehicle.
